Ah. Good question. It doesn’t work at all on mine. ‘A’ doesn’t work!

I've ordered one of these. Would I be able to connect a spare 6128 or speccy +3 drive instead and test with that?

How about one of those? Would that be a better choice for the empty external tatung drive cases I have?

I can't say for sure but I think the osbourne adapter won't work. The first one should. Unlike the osbourne adapter all pins are connected straight through.

Fingers crossed. It's a shame because the osbourne one is way cheaper

Beware the Osborne one has power lines side by side with data lines, use this and your drive will bang (at least if you plug the power connector :-)). Well, I guess the designer will have taken this into account and cut some tracks...

Gah another day of battling and still no working Tatungs. The 256 video cable arrived, and the machine works great. The floppy drive won't touch anything. I took it apart belt looks fine and moves ok, so does the head. However the bottom PCB was loose, and one cable didn't look quite in properly. I'll find some small screws at work tomorrow for the PCB and try again. The 256 is a socketed cable rather than an edge like the TC, but it's one of those shorter than 34pin ones, so I won't be able to directly plug in my hxc drive.

The drive itself is an EME-150C which is apparently not compatible with other drives from the amstrad etc? The drive in my 6128 was some amstrad type thing, I've lost the drive from my speccy +3 and I only removed the sodding thing on the weekend too!

These machines are battling me none stop :(
