Finally some small success! The PCB on the 256 drive was all loose and missing a screw from the ground part on the PCB. So I've added all the missing screws, wound the drive in and out by hand, checked it all over. And finally got some disks to boot. It sounds a bit ropey and some of the disks havn't worked, but I've finally got a go!

Indeed, this drive has been use in CPC world but it's not fully compatible with the internal drive of the CPC machines. It can't be hard to adapt a real CPC drive tho, or much better using a GotekThe drive itself is an EME-150C which is apparently not compatible with other drives from the amstrad etc? The drive in my 6128 was some amstrad type thing, I've lost the drive from my speccy +3 and I only removed the sodding thing on the weekend too!
