Unpublished Einstein Software

Post by MikeDHalliday »

Who has unpublished Einstein Software in their collection? Do you wanna share it so I can put it on my server for all to access?

Mario over at Einstein Reborn has dropped off the face of the earth and no longer updates the site, so the chances of getting anyting new from there is getting less and less :(

I know that Batman and Beachhead 1 and 2 were never launched, but I wonder what else we were missing back in the day?

Would love to see things like Head Over Heels, WizBall and Bionic Commando on Albert, but I guess that is wishful thinking!!! :(

So after some investigation, it looks like there may have been more unreleased software and games than I first thought.

Did anyone know that Airwolf by Elite was converted to the EInstein? It is not on Mario's games list and it was only by chance that I came across it.

It is also not shown on the Wikipedia page for Airwolf the game!

It plays the same as the ZX Spectrum version and has no music, but sound effects.

NOTE: it does look like there is some screen corruption on the start screen and during game play so maybe this is a pre-release or the game being run if from a corrupted disk?

UPDATE: You can download the .DSK image from here https://mikesretrotech.co.uk/userfiles/ ... e/Airwolf/

I have found a few more games that were not available in the games folder on the server; Some of these are not on Mario's games list.

Each of these were .COM files that I have added to their own Disk image. Apologies for the GAMEBASE loader and the LAZY.COM? failed auto run, I used the LazyJones disk image to create the .DSK files using EDIP without realizing this was an autorun disk.

It in no way stops you from playing the games, just looks a bit crappy - sorry.

Apologies if you have any of these already. I didn't have them in the organised games folders.

As and when I find more, I will add them to the server :D

Mike.

**UPDATE 02/06/23 **

I had forgot about this post, and the links were not longer working after I changed my host. I have updated the links now so all the software should be working again.

Thanks Mike. Certainly some titles here I've not come across previously. I look forward to looking at these games.

Found another unreleased title.

This time actually by Ocean! Not listed on Wikipedia and I can find no other reference to it online.

Hunchback and it plays the same as the ZX Spectrum version.

I will upload to my server and add the link when I get chance tonight.

You can see it running here under Mame/Mess. :D

Enjoy.

Thanks for making all these available. I'm surprised that unreleased stuff is still being found, great work!

I presume there's no objection to adding these to the MAME software lists, to make them more accessible? Should I credit anyone for the contribution?

I am just finding these every now and again and don't need credit for finding them. 😀 I know myself that no-one else has shown them 😀

I guess adding them to a list of working titles isn't a problem as it's just a list, right?

It also means they'll be distributed and will found in the MAME torrents that appear after every release.
