Realtime Clock access - ASM code

Another cool thing I found while scanning my docs etc is this.
An assembly listing to access a real time clock on Albert.
Is anyone aware of this hardware being available, as I understand it, there was no RTC built in.
I have a tiny RTC module for an arduino that I wondered if it could be connected to Albert in some way and maintain time? Has this been attempted/completed before?
Sorry for the low quality of the attachments, I had to do some remedial work on them as they were almost unreadable and covered in coffee stains (Hence the red writing)
May be useful to someone?
Regards
Mike.
