Missing software, documents and information

Post by MikeDHalliday »

I have been trawling every nook and cranny of the internet for Einstein information, software, documents and hardware, but eveything that can be found seems to be found.

So ...

I have taken the brave steps to contact Tatung in Taiwan via their web site to see if by chance anyone still working there has anything for the Einstein they want to offload :D

This could go a number of ways;

1. I get no reply (I guess they do not speak much English at Tatung Taiwan) - My Taiwanese or Chinese is rated at negative 10!
2. I get a single reply telling me to bugger off and leave them alone.
3. I get a single reply telling me to contact B&H (Obvious I know)
4. I get a single reply with an offer of a huge amount of Einstein stuff (Fingers crossed, this is my dream)
5. I get multiple replies on all of the above 1 - 4, and have so many I won't be able to reply to them all, or take all the stuff offered.

Decent offerings are still few and far between on eBay and Facebook, and Shpock and the like have gone quiet recently.

I can't think of anywhere else to look for missing Einstein bits. Even the local car boots are a failure at the moment. The retro stuff on offer is way too expensive for what it is, and I have not seen an Einstein on offer, EVER!

It still baffles me that there are not more web sites with obscure 8-bit software that might just include Einstein images :(

Oh well, the battle rages on. If I get any info, I will of course share it with you all!

It's something I've thought about. You would think a company of that size would have their own archive etc.

Best of luck! I suspect the most likely response will be no response at all but I hope I am wrong.

So, almost a month has gone by without a response.

I guess that was a dead end then!

As you can imagine, no one from Tatung has responded.

Total dead end.

I guess they no longer care about any of their legacy equipment?

Such a shame, they probably had/have a huge amount of information.

Yes, a real shame Mike, but you did the best anyone could do.
