Einsteins in Films/TV

Post by MikeDHalliday »

I have only ever seen 2 examples of Einsteins in the media.

1. Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018) an Einstein 256 features on the tv show MicroPlay.

2. In Sickness and in Health. An Einstein advert can be seen on the wall behind Alf Garnett. I assume he was in Dixons in the episode? Don't think I ever watched it. No view of the machine, just the wall ad!

Anyone got any more?

Going to see if I can get the full episode to watch. There may be a machine out on display, like there used to be in the good ol'e days!

UPDATE:

Found the episode on YouTube

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qHlOWhOjKw

Only the first 11 minutes of the show is set in the electrical shop. The rest of the show is probably politically incorrect now :O

I have watched the first 11 or so minutes to see if there was a machine featured, but alas it is only the sales advert.

Found another instance of Einstein adverts in the wild!

Unfortunately, this one is a licensed image and I cannot find it anywhere else!

Taken at Aston Villa's ground 26/04/1986 during the match against Chelsea. Not sure if this was televised back then?

You'll catch a glimpse of an Einstein in the upcoming short film Type Till You Bleed... mainly because it was filmed at the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge :)
