Looks like it'll need to be sealed bids for each of us for Elite, Lardo

I’m broke (just spent a small fortune on uniform for the kids) so looks like it is yours! Well, assuming it is a duplicate for Mike of course.retrogamer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 3:34 pm Looks like it'll need to be sealed bids for each of us for Elite, Lardo

Re: Today I Received...
So ...
Most things tested this morning and all seems to be working fine.
Both drives on the albert are in perfect condition and read the discs I threw at it.
The Philips monitor is actually amber and looks sweet.
Albert himself is proper dirty, like it was used every day back in the 80s - He needs a good clean with IPA, but thankfully he does not need a retrobrite.
I am curious though. He has this modification on the inside.
I have emailed the chap I got it from to see if he remembers what it is.
There are wires going to the underside of the main board, presumably for power and data??
Anyone have an idea what the hell this is? - Could it be a real time clock module or an audio DAC module?
I am excited to find out what it is, as when fired up, there appears to be no boot up differnces over a stock machine.
Will keep you all posted when I find out what it is!
Mike.

Re: Today I Received...
As for the joystick adapter ...
I took a few snaps to show the component side;
Gonna try and document in a schematic and replicate if I can Maybe put a 9pin socket so that other joysticks can be used!
Regards

Re: Today I Received...
The IC on the mystery board is a NE592x14.
A google search suggests this may be a video signal amplifier.
Perhaps tracing how it's connected up to the main board will reveal some more clues ...

Interesting stuff!
Could the joystick adapter be based on the circuit in this Einstein Monthly? http://www.tatungeinstein.co.uk/images/em13.pdf

@retrogamer
I wonder if this goes hand in hand with the switch box then?
When I have ore time, i will take the board out of the case and have a look, take some picks and see it if can be removed, and if so, what happens when it is not connected!
