Do you have a schematic of how have you rewired the connector?. Looking at both pinouts, they're slightly different (what's that VREF pin?)

Anyway, yours seems to be a different kind of adapter as you have used a PC analog joystick, not an Atari one. Are the PC analog joysticks really compatible with the input signals needed for the Einstein!, that's new to me!...and pretty exciting too, PC items are way cheap than the original ones.

If it's the Atari to Tatung joysticks adapter, IIRC the schematic appeared in "Einstein Monthly"; but can't remember the exact issue... Anyway, I guess that you've already built it without problems, does it work fine?. I'll need soon to get some joysticks for my machines and it's near to impossible ...

I'm looking for info about the Einstein capabilities regarding the 1-bit sound generation. I mean, machines capable of that are simply toggling the value of a port that makes a speaker emit a basic "beep", varying the toggling speed you can modulate the sound being emitted.
