Yes it is.
Put it down to just one of those odd things I guess!

Re: TC-01 with Gotek and second drive
Thanks for all the help and GREAT suggestions!
I tried another Gotek and it all works fine with no issues. Obviously something going on with the first one.

Re: TC-01 with Gotek and second drive
Its a newer model. I may try another one just too if anything changes. Otherwise I guess I will just be using Gotek only. Which is fine.

Re: TC-01 with Gotek and second drive
Yes. If I boot from floppy and do a dir all looks good. Jump over to drive 1 (gotek) and do a dir all looks good there too. Jump back to drive 0 and I get a no sector 1 error. So its almost as if the gotek disk image is changing the expected drive format. Strange huh?

Re: TC-01 with Gotek and second drive
Here is where we are. I set the floppy as drive zero and gotek as drive 1. Booted happily from the system disk inserted into the floppy. Was able to jump over to drive 1 and view the gotek dsk image fine. When I jumped back to drive zero I got the sector 0 error again. So the gotek must be setting ...

Re: TC-01 with Gotek and second drive
Thanks for the suggestions! Much appreciated. All jumpers are correct. I can sent a format command to the disk and it will do its thing but fail on verify. Unplug the Gotek and try again with the floppy as drive 0 and it works fine. So its clearly something on the Gotek. Gotek boots and loads images ...

Re: TC-01 with Gotek and second drive
They are set either d0 or d1 depending on if I want it as main drive. The other jumper is unchanged and set at the middle position. I am wondering if the Gotek is interfering with the ready signal or something. Since the 3 inch drive works fine with the gotek unplugged using the same cable. There ...

Re: TC-01 with Gotek and second drive
Hello there! Thanks for replying.
Yes the Gotek works fine with or without the second drive attached.
The cable is one I purchased from a store in the UK. Straight through cable with no twist. One connector is IDE style and the other is the older Shugart style connector.
Gotek is set to S0.

Re: PSU replacement vid
Thanks for the link. I live in the US so I have been thinking about replacing the PSU in my TC-01 with one that supports 110-240v so I don't have to lug around my step up transformer.

TC-01 with Gotek and second drive
Hello everyone! So happy to finally get my hands on an Einstein here in the US. When I lived in the UK I remember seeing them at places like Dixons. It was a great machine that just arrived too late. In any case I got one and gave it some TLC. Needed some serious retrobriting and cleanup. I was able ...
